Saffron is still one of the main commercial items in Afghanistan. The Ministry of Agriculture says that Afghanistan is the third largest exporter of saffron in the world. Akbar Rostami says that Afghanistan exports saffron to India, China, Arab countries, especially the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, European countries and to almost 17 Asian, European and even the United States.
